Need help arranging an oversized permit?

We can assist with the required bonding and a route survey.

Keep in mind that the City of Boston Transportation Department does NOT allow third-parties to arrange oversize permits. Currently, only the transport company, or the general contractor, are the sole persons authorized to apply for oversized load permits in the City of Boston. That said, we do offer services that will save you time and frustration.

Without the correct paperwork your trip to Boston City Hall will just be a waste of time.

YES: You’ll need a street bond.

The City of Boston requires oversized, overweight, or super-load operators to have this specialized bond before applying for a permit. It’s a unique bond that names the City as a beneficiary in the event you damage City property. While we do not issue these bonds ourselves, we can make them happen very fast.

YES: You’ll need a certified route survey.

Boston BTD requires a “Boston-specific” certified route survey. This required survey should not include roadways outside of Boston and only contain the route within the city boundary. Just provide us the load details and we will have our third-party surveyor complete the job to the City’s specifications.

NO: What about the permit?

The City of Boston Transportation Department currently does NOT allow third-parties (like us) to arrange transport, oversized, or overweight permits. Per the BTD, only an employee of the trucking company, or a construction-site project manager, is allowed to arrange this type of permit.
